SOMETHING DIFFERENT FROM MY USUAL STYLE. I found myself experimenting and going for something a little more abstract. 

The illustration is based off a story in Greek mythology about primordial gods whose births coincide with the beginning of the universe. One is Chaos, the nothingness from which all else sprang and the other is Gaia, the personification of Earth. I sound geeky, I know. It’s the first time I made a more or less abstract representation of a story. I’ve been working on it since yesterday however I still think there’s something missing. That or a new style takes a while to get used to. The illustration’s working title is Protogenoi. I’ll post the step by step soon after. I’m trying to stay true to a promise I made to myself that I will post more progress shots and step-by-step’s. 

On an unrelated note, I took a break from work in time for the holidays. I have been out of town and have been hibernating since. Yesterday and today had been the only times I’m online and out of bed (i’m quite surprised myself). The old me would’ve accepted the entire thing gladly except I made plans to do a few illustrations before the year ends. It’s a shame, really. :)
